Growing Calls for Resignation Amid Sexual Harassment Allegations

A rape case has been registered against Mukesh, who is a two-time legislator representing the Kollam Assembly constituency.

The allegations were first made public by actor Minu Muneer, who claimed that Mukesh had demanded sexual favors in exchange for career advancement.

Subsequently, Tess Joseph, another actress, alleged that Mukesh had harassed her 26 years ago.

Mukesh has denied the allegations, calling them "baseless".
However, calls for his resignation are mounting, with several women's rights organizations and political parties condemning his alleged actions.
The CPI (M) has also distanced itself from Mukesh, stating that it does not support any form of sexual misconduct.

Muneer's allegations stem from an incident that allegedly occurred over a decade ago when she was an aspiring actress.

Joseph's allegations, on the other hand, date back to 1996 when she was working as a journalist.
