In a thrilling start to the 2024 Copa America final, Argentina and Colombia played out a tense first half that ended in a 0-0 draw. Argentina, the defending champions, dominated possession and created the better chances, but Colombia held firm and nearly snatched a late goal. The best chance of the half fell to Argentina when Lautaro Martinez was played through on goal, but Ospina made a brilliant save to deny him. Colombia came close to snatching a late goal when Juan Cuadrado's cross found Diaz, but his header was deflected wide.
The second half is set to get underway, and both teams will be desperate to break the deadlock. Argentina will be looking to their star man Messi to provide the inspiration, while Colombia will need to find a way to contain him and create chances of their own.
